Aftermarket Exhaust System Back to Forum

I used my Hypertherm Powermax-45 to help with the replacement of my exhaust system with an aftermarket high performance system on my turbo-diesel pickup truck.  Fist I used the Powermax to cut the original hangers to free the old exhaust from the vehicle.  It was amazing how fast and simple it was to remove the exhaust system using the Hypertherm Powermax-45.  Several weeks earlier my son and I removed the old exhaust system on his car without the help of the plasma that was a pain!  Anyway, next I used the plasma cutter to cut up the old exhaust system into manageable lengths for the trash.  Moving on to the installation of the new system, I needed to make a new hanger that would be mounted on the frame of the truck.  The frame was thick and did not want to allow my drill bits to penetrate.  I fabricated the hanger (See Pic "New Hanger"), and then used the Powermax to cut two holes in the frame of the truck for the hanger.  The resulting holes were not perfectly round (See Pic "Holes in Frame"), yet they were good enough for mounting the newly constructed hanger.  I finished the install and now have a great sounding and performing truck.

Thanks Hypertherm,
